MAKE PLANS TO ATTEND
Friday, October 11, 8:50 am, Gym 1 MS/HS Joint Chapel. All parents of ES, MS and HS are invited to this chapel. Because of the nature of the talk elementary students will not attend. Alex Nsengimana, a "full-circle Operation Christmas Child (OCC) speaker", will be our guest. Alex received an OCC shoebox as a child in an orphanage and now works for the ministry sharing Christ around the world. At age 5, Alex's entire family was murdered during the 100-day genocide in Rwanda. He ultimately landed in an orphanage where he heard about Christ through Operation Christmas Child. It was a long journey to accepting Christ for him, but now he travels as a speaker sharing a message of forgiveness through Jesus. Alex is an amazing young man. He has almost finished seminary and plans to return to Rwanda. He met the man who murdered his family, expressed forgiveness and shared the Gospel with him. Come meet Alex at chapel and hear his incredible testimony.

ATTENDANCE
Reminder: It is very difficult for teachers when a student(s) takes off for an extended period of time (3 days or more). Even if a student takes work with them, the teacher must follow up, catch them up on tests and perhaps even put off introducing new materials, and there is no replacing hearing an actual "lesson" in class. Please, keep these challenges in mind when scheduling days off. FYI: The State of Georgia mandates no more than 10 absences per semester.

DON'T MISS MARY POPPINS TONIGHT!
Tonight, Friday, September 27, 5:30 pm, Movie Night on the Lawn (Green Acre) featuring "Mary Poppins", brought to you by the ES PTF. Bring yourself, chairs or blankets, and a few tuppence. Games and giveaways will happen between 5:30 - 7:00 pm. The movie will start shortly after 7:00 pm, as the sun starts to set. Dress-down passes will be given to elementary students in attendance, and a pizza party will be awarded to the grade with the highest participation. Complimentary popcorn will be provided by the Booster Club!

A special thanks to Leigh-Ann and Alfred Thompson (a.k.a. Mary Poppins and Burt) for making our Tuesday carpool Supercalifragilisticexpialadocious! What a blessing to see so many delighted smiles on our kids' faces!

PALADIN PACK
MS Parents: School is off to a fantastic start and we are excited to see God at work within our middle school! Recognizing and rewarding Christ-like character in our students is one of the ways we are encouraging students toward spiritual maturity. MS students have been divided into 14 "Paladin Packs", each pack, or team, includes students from all three middle grades.  Students earn points for their team by being nominated by teachers and other students for Christ-like behavior and modeling our "I Am Second" theme. At the end of 9 weeks the team with the most points will be rewarded in various ways. We are looking for a restaurant that will offer a discounted rate to middle school for this purpose, it will be greatly appreciated. If you would like to donate in some way to the Paladin Pack rewards or have questions contact Mark Rickman, mark.rickman@fcspaladins.org
