Monday, October 8, Cobb Galleria Centre; Keynote Speaker, Kirk Cameron; Art Show and Reception: 6:00 pm, Dinner: 7:00 pm. We are looking forward to a great time kicking off the Fellowship Fund at the banquet on Monday!

Tickets are required, please print and bring your ticket(s) with you. The tickets were provided in the email confirmation received when you made and paid for your reservation.
Tickets will NOT be sold at the door.
School will dismiss at noon on Monday and it will be a dress down day.
S.O.A.R. DUNK
Wednesday, October 10, Gym 1, 2:00 - 3:00 pm. Liberty University's website describes S.O.A.R. as its most unconventional ministry team. S.O.A.R. is Liberty University's high-flying basketball team that uses acrobatic maneuvers off trampolines to dazzle crowds of all ages and share their faith. Parents are invited.FALL BREAK

ADMISSIONS
Beginning November 1 applications will be accepted for the 2013-2014 school year. Sibling applicants will be given priority during the month of November. Tours begin outside the high school front office each Thursday at 10:00 am.
SPIRIT ITEMS WHILE SUPPLY LASTS
PTF is now offering three FCS Spirit items for sale. There is a limited supply so order today!
16 oz. acrylic tumblers are $12 each; 30 oz. water bottles are $8 each and 62" vented golf umbrellas are $28 each.

FENCING CLUB
Wednesdays, 3:30 pm after school at Paladin Center. All girls and guys, grades 4 through 12 are invited to join.
Little Paladins, Big Pride
From October 1 through October 19 the classroom that collects the most Box Tops and the classroom that collects the most Labels for Education wins the party! Two classes can win.

SAVE YOUR BOX TOPS AND CAMPBELL SOUP LABELS
Our winter competition is just around the corner. Students may place their neatly cut Box Tops in a plastic baggie with their name and grade on the outside of the baggie. Only those marked properly will receive credit. Have your child place the box tops in the Box Top box in the middle school office. We are also collecting Campbell's Soup Labels.
WINTER BREAK SKI TRIP
February 14-18, 2013 are the dates during which Tread will be sponsoring 2013 Ski and Snowboarding Trip (FCS Winter Break) to The Canyons, Utah. MATH LEAGUE CONTESTS
The Georgia Math League contest will be held during lunch in Room 103:
Tuesday, October 9, for students in Pre-calculus and Calculus.
Wednesday, October 10 for students in Honors Algebra II and Advanced Algebra-Trig.
Students should bring their lunch, graphing calculator, and pencil.
NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY
Friday, October 12 is NHS application deadline. The National Honor Society is a national organization recognizing scholarship, character, service and leadership. It is a great honor to be eligible and accepted into this society and many congratulations are to be given to our new candidates. A list of these candidates (sophomores, juniors, and seniors only) with a cumulative average of at least 92 for all courses completed has been posted this week in the high school. This is the initial qualification for membership. These students should pick up an application from club sponsor, Ms Topham. The deadline for applications is October 12. It is the student's responsibility to complete the application and submit recommendation forms to teachers. Students who are accepted into the National Honor Society will be notified of their acceptance on Friday, October 19. Following notification, families will receive an invitation to the Induction Ceremony which will be held Monday, October 29 at 6:00 pm in the Lecture Hall.
PSAT
Wednesday, October 17, 9:00 am. 10th and 11th graders will be taking the PSAT (practice for the SAT). The test will run first through fourth periods. Parents, please avoid scheduling appointments during this time.
CAMP GRACE
October 27-28, Fall Festival. Students who signed up through the GO program to support Camp Grace should mark you calendar for Camp Grace's Fall Festival in Roberta, GA Saturday and Sunday, October 27-28. Also, a Camp Grace Banquet will be held at FCS Sunday evening, November 11.
NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY INDUCTION CEREMONY

SPANISH HONOR SOCIETY
Monday, October 29, at 7:00 pm in the Lecture Hall new members will be inducted into The Soiedad Honoraria Hispánica. This is a high school honor society for students enrolled in Spanish III Honors or Spanish IV Honors with an A average. The society recognizes high achievement of high school students in the Spanish language and promotes a continued interest in Hispanic studies in college. Annual dues are $15 for returning members and $25 for new members, and are now due.
GEORGIA HOPE SCHOLARSHIP
Students wishing to check their potential HOPE GPA with the Georgia Student Finance Commission must provide their social security number to our Guidance Counselor, Susie Pridemore.
COSTA RICA TRIP
FCS students will visit beautiful Costa Rica next summer in conjunction with Fellowship's efforts to extend our classrooms and learning opportunities across international borders. Students will immerse themselves in realistic Spanish conversations, gain insight into the nuances of verbal exchanges between Spanish speakers and will determine conversational meaning through context rather than direct translation - a true hands on learning experience. October is . . .BOX TOP Bonanza Month!!
During the month of October, Middle and High School will be collecting Box Tops for Education labels. This is one of our PTF passive fundraisers that help provide much needed funds to support several of our awesome PTF events this year. Please place your Box Tops in a baggie with your child's name and grade written on it and drop it off in the High School office by Friday, October 26. The family that collects the most Box Tops will win a gift card to a local restaurant. Thank you so much in advance for helping us out with this great fundraiser.
