DON'T MISS FCS' PRODUCTION OF IRVING BERLIN'S WHITE CHRISTMAS PERFORMANCES TONIGHT AND TOMORROW BY FCS' HS DRAMA DEPARTMENT

Friday, November 30 at 7:30 pm, Gym 1
Saturday, December 1, 2:30 pm and 7:30 pm, Gym 1
FCS' production of Irving Berlin's White Christmas
Tickets: $10 at the door

DINNER AND WHITE CHRISTMAS
What: The Senior Class is providing dinner during the December 1 production of White Christmas. Dinner, beginning at 6:30 pm, includes an Italian entree, salad, vegetable, bread, and dessert. 
Why: The money raised goes towards the senior trip. 
How: Seating for the "Dinner and the Play" option is $20 which includes the ticket for the musical and dinner served family style. Dinner seating is arranged at tables of 8 and will surround the general seating for the musical in the High School Gym. Reserve your seats by dropping off a check in the High School Office, made payable to FCS in an envelope marked "Dinner and the Play". 
NOTE: Regular seating for the musical on this date is available without the meal option.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD (OCC) 
FCS annual OCC shoebox collection officially ends today, Friday, November 30. However, boxes will still be accepted on Monday, December 3 in the High School. High School students may earn GO hours through their shoebox donations - one GO hour per box, up to eight boxes. Visit the OCC website for labels and packing details. Middle and High school students will be going to the Operation Christmas Child processing center to assist in their warehouse on Monday, December 3 from 9:00am - 2:00 pm.


A DAY FOR FELLOWSHIP
Wednesday, December 5. Parent volunteers helping with the Fellowship Fund are focusing their efforts to reach our 100% parent participation goal by December 5. Leading the way in this effort is Mrs. Hornsby's 2nd grade class which attained 100%! THANK YOU, PARENTS! And, thank you to all parents who have participated to this point. 
If you have not yet participated, help us reach our December 5 goal of 100% participation by submitting your pledge or gift today.

Busses on that day, Wednesday, December 19 will run on the normal service time for an 8:00 am start

HOST FAMILY PROGRAM FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
FCS has been granted approval to accept international students. We will be partnering with China Project Hope. Students who are accepted will be mission appropriate and meet academic expectations. Host families receive a monthly stipend to help cover expenses associated with hosting a student. This opportunity provides wonderful cross-cultural experiences for families, students and our school. SAIS MEMBERSHIP
FCS has applied and meets the criteria to become a member of the Southern Association of Independent Schools. SAIS is an organization of independent elementary and secondary schools throughout the Southeastern United States and the Caribbean. They address issues of importance to non-public schools such as organizational excellence, accreditation, professional development, equity and leadership. SAIS serves and strengthens member schools through the promotion of the highest educational standards.

NEW ATHLETIC WEBPAGE
Fellowship Athletics is very excited to announce the launch of our new webpage. This provides information regarding schedules, rosters, pictures and statistics for FCS Athletic Teams. The site has several new features, including an FCS Athletic app for your smartphone. The new design will allow coaches and the athletic office to communicate and update parents, and players efficiently with the latest practice changes, scores, game recaps and upcoming events delivered right to your phone. Go to the FCS website, www.fellowshipchristianschool.org, and click on Athletics to view the new page and see our progress as we continue to make it our own.

RENWEB COMPATIBILITY WITH WINDOWS 8
With the release of Microsoft's latest operating system, Windows 8, RenWeb has conducted extensive testing of their products on the Windows 8 platform and Internet Explorer 10. There are some changes which need to be made to the default settings for RenWeb products to work on Windows 8. For a step by step instruction go to RenWeb FAQs on the FCS website.





LITTLE PALADINS, BIG PRIDE


JR. BETA CLUB INDUCTION CEREMONY
Thursday, December 6, 6:00 pm, Elementary School Room 169.  Students in grades 5 through 8 will be inducted into the Jr. Beta Club. Boys are to wear a coat/suit and tie; girls are to wear a dress or skirt and blouse.  

ES WINTERLIGHT HELP
Monday, December 10, 6:30 pm, ES Auditorium. Can you hear the excitement? This is going to be a wonderful performance including all divisions - ES, MS, HS. The Elementary production needs volunteers to assist our Music teacher, Melanie Baxley, with costumes and seta design. She will need a Lead Volunteer and other volunteers to help create, organize, press and label the costumes for the actors, as well as, create the two backdrops. ES FAMILY CHRISTMAS CHAPEL
Wednesday, December 19, 9:10 am, includes each grade level singing a Christmas song and reciting a Bible verse. The teachers even sing! After chapel, parties will begin and last until dismissal for the holidays at 12:00 noon. K4 and K5 (Mrs. Tomberlin's class) will dismiss at 11:45 am due to the traffic.


BUS ROUTE
Wednesday, December 19 Elementary School will have a normal Wednesday late start schedule at 9:00 but, due to exams, middle and high school will start at 8:00 am. The bus will pick up at the regular weekday time, NOT the Wednesday pick up time. If you want your elementary student to arrive at  school later, then you will need to make other arrangements. To be clear; the buses will only run an early morning pick-up, not a Wednesday schedule.

FOURTH GRADE FOOTBALL TEAM
Our 4th Grade football team left everything they on the field and won "runner up" for the NAFL (North Atlanta Football League). We are very proud of our Little Paladins! They would like to thank all their FCS friends and families for support and showing our Paladin spirit by cheering them on and for the awesome turnout at the game.

YEARBOOK
The Yearbook Staff is looking for digital images of Flag Football, Astrotrek, Native American Day, Special Days, Field Trips, Cheerleading and 4th Grade Football. Please submit your favorite 10 to 20 clear images on a flash drive, CD or DVD. Please label flash drives, so it may be returned. Contact  cindy.hart@fcspaladins.org

ES VARIETY SHOW
Tuesday, February 5, 2013. This show allows our students K5-5th grades to showcase their talents in a non-competitive venue. In the past, we have had the pleasure of watching our talented students sing, dance, play an instrument, cheer, hula hoop, perform magic tricks and more! Solo acts and groups are welcome. 8th GRADE DC TRIP
The cost of the DC trip has been divided into following payments:
$310 due November 30
$310 due February 1
$310 due March 8 (final balance) 
Please make your checks out to Fellowship Christian School and give to Mr. Fickley or leave in the main office. Amounts are same for students and parent chaperones.

FCS BOY SCOUT TROOP 356 OPEN HOUSE
Monday, December 3, 7:30 pm, HS Lecture Hall. All boys grades 5th - 8th grades, and their parents, interested in scouting are invited to attend Troop 356's open house. Troop leadership will present an overview of the troop's first year and answer any questions potential scouts or parents may have about Troop 356 and scouting.

8th GRADE MOTHER/DAUGHTER BIBLE STUDY
Beginning Friday, December 7, 7:00 pm, in the Dragt home. We will continue to meet every first Friday of the month. Please join us for a  mother/daughter "Read the Red" Bible study led by Angie Dragt, mother of Este (8th), Josh (6th) and Anna (5th). MS MORNING DROP OFF
Please be considerate of others and pull further up toward the stop sign when dropping off your children in the morning. Those further back are not able to drop their children off at the sidewalk if those in front of them don't pull up. Thank you!

LOST AND FOUND
Today, Friday, November 30, our Lost and Found will be cleared out and donated to charity. Please check there for any missing items. Lost jewelry and electronics may be found in the High School office.

CHRISTMAS PARTY
Saturday, December 1, at FCS, 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. The GO program in conjunction with the Spanish Honor Society, will be sponsoring a Christmas luncheon for Hispanic children in our community. Interested students should sign up with Mrs. Daniel.


DOMINICAN REPUBLIC MISSION TRIP
Thursday, December 6 is the deadline for completed registration forms and the first deposit of $375. If your student is interested in going on the Dominican Republic Mission Trip over Spring Break, information packets are available in Mr. Bullington's room. High School Student and Faculty Christmas Luncheon, 
Monday, December 17, 11 am to 12:15 pm

Each year, our high school families provide food for a special Christmas feast for our students, faculty and staff. We ask that ALL families participate in order to make this a success. Please bring your food item to the cafeteria/gym in disposable platters on Monday, December 17 by 10:00 am or drop them off during morning carpool.  

FreshmenHeavy Appetizers (hot wings, chicken nuggets/strips from Zaxby’s or Chick-fil-A, meatballs, cocktail franks, sliced sub sandwiches). For large trays, please feel free to coordinate cost with another family.

HIGH SCHOOL WRESTLING
The HS Wrestling team is looking for students (girls and boys) interested in serving as a wrestling team manager. Responsibilities include traveling to matches with the team, keeping score books (training provided), maintaining/tracking equipment and more. We need 2-4 volunteers. Sign up with Coach Ryan Zimmerman or Coach Bryan Lindner.

FELLOWSHIP of CHRISTIAN ATHLETES
Support our FCA by purchasing Chick-fil-A biscuits on Wednesday mornings. FCA meetings are held monthly and announced in advance to our high school students.

MID TERM EXAMS
The  exam schedule for December has been posted on the News Page of the school website. Please make note of these dates and times, as school policy states, "Students will not be permitted to take an exam earlier than scheduled. Parents should make vacation and travel plans that accommodate the exam schedule."

SECOND SEMESTER SCHEDULES
Parents and students should check the second semester schedules in RenWeb for accuracy. Please contact the Guidance Department if there is a discrepancy.

FROM THE SCHOOL NURSE
Just a reminder: students must be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school. Also, students may not come back to school until they have not vomited for 24 hours. Please do not allow your students to come to school if they are contagious. Thank you.

FCS MAGNETS
Available in the HS office for $5. They make great stocking stuffers!


BARNBURNER
SGA is seeking a new home for our annual BarnBurner held in March. Contact Bryan Lindner, bryan.lindner@fcspaladins.org if you are willing to host this fun event for our FCS high schoolers.
