RED, WHITE AND BLUE DAYS

Show your USA patriotism by wearing red, white and blue on these two days. November 6 is Election Day and November 12 we will be honoring our veterans at the Veteran's Day Chapel So come dressed with American Pride - wear your RED, WHITE AND BLUE!
ARE YOU READY TO WALK . . . FOR JDRF?
Wednesday, November 7, Lunchtime, Paladin Field. In an effort to raise awareness of juvenile diabetes our entire FCS student body is partnering with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). Students received their JDRF Walk Envelope on Friday, October 26. Parents and siblings are invited to share this time with us. CHRISTMAS CARD CONTEST
Extended deadline Friday, November 9, 3:30 pm. Please note this date is a change from the previously posted incorrect date of November 30. The deadline date of November 9 is reflected in the rules and entry form. Currently enrolled Fellowship students may submit entries and the winning design will be the cover of the school's official 2012 Christmas Card. The winning artist will receive a $100 cash prize and 20 Christmas cards. Click for rules and entry form.

VETERAN'S DAY CHAPEL
Monday, November 12, 8:15-9:15 am, ES Auditorium. We will be presenting a tribute to our service men and women, past and present.
If you have family members or friends who are serving or have served in the military and would like them included in our Veteran's Day tribute, please submit only digitally formatted photographs to Mr. Wayne Rasku at wayne.rasku@fcspaladins.org by Wednesday, November 7. Even if your veteran has previously been included, send a photo and info. Include your veteran's name, rank, branch of service, and his/her relationship to and name of the FCS student(s)/faculty.

HOW ARE WE DOING?
Have you been wondering how our school is doing with our PTF fundraisers? Well, we are doing fantastic! So far, the elementary school PTF has received/earned the following approximate amounts from the fundraisers:
For your convenience there is a "mycoke rewards" box located outside the front office. You can continue to send in those rewards with your child marked for PTF volunteer "Kim Glisson" OR drop then in the box, Kim's son, Caleb, is in Mrs. Tomberlin's class.
BOOK FAIR
Have you been wondering how our school is doing with our PTF fundraisers? Well, we are doing fantastic! So far, the elementary school PTF has received/earned the following approximate amounts from the fundraisers:
- Schoolkidz: $2,350 - Ordering will be near the end of this school year for 2013-2014 school supplies.
- TrueBlue Schools: $140 - Just designate FCS as your school on your Georgia Natural Gas account.
- Publix: $350 - Use your swipe cards at checkout.
- Target: $1,150 - Use your Target debit/credit card with FCS designated as your school.
- BoxTops: $1,300 - Our next collection is in February.

There will not be a Book Fair before Christmas. The Book Fair has been tentatively scheduled for the spring.
MS/HS BOX TOP BONANZA WINNER IS...
Avery Lear (8th Grade) is the Top Bonanza Winner. The Lear family will receive a gift card to one of their favorite restaurants. We collected over 4000 labels! Thanks to everyone who participated.

Starting Friday, November 2 at 12 noon, parents can send their selections to the elective email address mselectives@fcspaladins.org. Please read the October 30 email for answers to questions you may have.

Now through Tuesday, November 6 the High School JDRF Walk Team is sponsoring a "Homemade Treats Bake Sale" to raise funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. All items will be $1.00 and sold during lunch.

Registration must be received no later than TODAY, Friday November 2. This next TREAD trip is backpacking on North Georgia's Appalachian Trail, at the Three Rivers section Friday, November 9 and Saturday, November 10. Pick up a Tread packet outside Room 205 for more information.

JEKYLL ISLAND 7th GRADE TRIP
The deposit and permission form were due November 1. Please submit your $230 check and form as soon as possible to Mrs. McDonald.
NEEDED: FOUR 8TH GRADE DADS
We always have parents to supervise our 8th graders in their hotel rooms during the annual Washington, DC trip. Right now we still need four dads to supervise 8th grade boys March 24-28, 2013. We need dads come with us! If you're interested, please contact Mr. Fickley at jonathan.fickley@fcspaladins.org.
For those who have not turned in their supplies, please make sure to bring them to Mrs. McDonald's office as soon as possible. 8th grade, we greatly need Expo Markers.

8th GRADE MOTHER/DAUGHTER BIBLE STUDY
Beginning Friday, December 7, 7:00 pm, in the Dragt home. Moms, please join us for a mother/daughter "Read the Red" Bible study led by Angie Dragt, mother of Este (8th), Josh (6th) and Anna (5th). The first meeting will be Friday, December 7. We will continue to meet every first Friday of the month. Angie has a masters degree in theology from Southwestern Theological Seminary in Ft. SENIORS REMEMBER
Friday, November 2 the first deposit for the senior trip is due.
Today, Friday, November 2 is the last day to check our Lost and Found for lost items. We have a full cabinet of clothing, water bottles and lunch boxes. Valuables such as jewelry, eyeglasses and electronics which are found are turned in to the high school office. At the end of each month the lost and found is cleaned out and items are donated to charity.

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY
NHS dues are now due. All new and current members of the National Honor Society are asked to submit their annual dues now. For current members the fee is $15.00 and for new members the fee is $25.00. Please submit a check written to FCS with NHS in the memo line to the High School Office. Congratulations to all the new inductees!
FELLOWSHIP OF CHRISTIAN ATHLETES
Support FCA by purchasing Chick-fil-a biscuits in the concession area on Wednesday mornings. Biscuits are $3 each or two for $5.

Just a reminder of our high school attendance policy . . .
Absence from school must be communicated to the office by email at attendance@fcspaladins.org before the start of the school day on the day of the absence, stating the specific reason for the absence. Teachers will be given an absentee list at the beginning of the day, notifying then of all student absences. Failure to notify the office of an absence before the start of school may result in the absence being unexcused. Excuses by phone are not accepted.
