REMEMBER!  
NO SCHOOL - MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 3 - LABOR DAY HOLIDAY

F3 - FELLOWSHIP OF FANTASTIC FATHERS
All Fellowship Dads are invited to come to the Baseball Hitting Facility (the "Barn") EVERY Friday, beginning September 7, anytime between 7:30 and 8:30 AM for a cup of coffee and a few minutes of friendship with other Fellowship Dads. Drop off the kids, park the car and come in for a quick visit.  No agenda other than a chance to meet some of the other dads. NEW PARENT TAILGATE RECEPTION!  
If your family is NEW to FCS this year, please save Friday, September 7 and be on the lookout for your invitation to the reception with Dr. Burris before the game from 6:00-6:30 pm. RSVPs are due by Wednesday, September 5.

SAFETY REMINDERS
Please remember to come to a complete stop at all stop signs on campus. Also, as a courtesy to others, please use your blinkers at campus 3-way stops to indicate to our students and other drivers which way you are going.

MS/HS INDIVIDUAL AND CLASS PICTURES - 
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 5
Smile! Studio 7 will be set up in the concession area of Gym 1 to take individual pictures and class pictures. Students are encouraged to have their individual pictures taken between 7:30 am and 9:00 am to avoid missing class time, however, students will have the opportunity to do this during morning classes as well. MS students testing later in the day should report for pictures before school.

Elementary will be have pictures taken on Tuesday, September 18.

LATE START - 2 DAYS
Wednesday, September 19 and Thursday, September 20 school will start at 9:00. We will be hosting a special parent assembly on Sept. 20 in the ES auditorium featuring the president of ACSI, Dr. Brian Simmons. He will be presenting his book, Worth It. More details on this assembly to come.

GRANDPARENTS DAY - K - 12
Mark you calendars for the first ALL school Grandparents Day, Friday, October 5! There will be a reception for our grandparents and an all school chapel. More details to follow.

STILL NEEDED PICTURE PARENTS
The Yearbook Staff is looking for Picture Parents for each elementary homeroom class, middle and high school grade level. If you would like to take and share your digital images and help to coordinate photographers for your child's class or grade, please email cindy.hart@fcspaladins.org.

PARENT INFORMATION NIGHT
Tuesday, September 4, 6:30 pm, in Classrooms. This is a parents only event  for gathering information about curriculum, expectations, field trips, etc. in your student’s class.  Please go to your youngest child's classroom first, then work through the following rotation for older children:
6:30-7:00 First Rotation
7:05-7:35 Second Rotation
7:40-8:10 Third Rotation

ES UPDATES 
Box Tops Counting Party! 
We need available elementary parents for our first Box Tops county party on Wednesday, September 5 from 9-10 am in the lunchroom. This is a great opportunity to meet other parents, learn about the program and help organize the school's biggest fundraiser - all while enjoying coffee and donuts!

Publix is Offering Free Money to US! 

All you have to do is… 1.  Add the Publix Partners card to your keychain, 2.  Shop at ANY Publix.  3.  Hand your Publix Partners card to the cashier at checkout.  That’s it!  Please look for a Publix flyer with two Partners cards attached in your child’s Friday folder.  There are extra cards in the lower school front office or at the closest local Publix to FCS (King’s Ridge Shopping Center) for your friends and family to use. Lunch Visitation

To help our students develop a routine, please wait until September 24 to join your child for lunch at school.

Field Trip Shirts 
Small to Extra Large shirts are on sale in the ES office for $20.

Volunteers Needed 

The Elementary School needs four moms or dads willing to watch students arriving at 7:30 am on Wednesday mornings so our teachers and staff can participate in Biblical worldview integration and staff meetings. If you are interested in helping, call Carol Turner at 770-641-5565.





MS RETREAT - SEPTEMBER 6-7 
Thursday, September 6,  8th grade buses will depart from the MS overflow parking lot  at 7:30 am. The 6th and 7th grades will depart from the carpool lane at 8:00 am. Please arrive early and do not block the buses as you drop off your student.

8th grade returns Friday, September 7 at 4:00 pm.

6th and 7th grades return Friday, September 7 at 2:45 pm.

Parents, if you are able to take and share digital images of the MS Retreat, email cindy.hart@fcspaladins.org.  Please share with us 20 to 30 of your favorite images that tell the story of the Retreat. Flash drives, CD's and DVD's should be given to Cindy Hart in the MS/HS office.

GRADE LEVEL COFFEES
We look forward to seeing you at the grade level parent coffees where you will have a chance to meet other parents who have students in the same grade, ask questions and sign up to volunteer. Each coffee will meet at 8:15 am in the Lecture Hall, Room 109.

MS GIRLS - ROBOTICS NEEDS YOU
Robotics is needs two or three additional middle school girls to form an all girls team. Girls can build robots too!  Anyone interested should speak to Mrs. Williamson in room 215.

PARENT COFFEES
Mark your calendars and plan to attend the Parent Coffees coming up this month! Meet High School Principal Mike Long, as well as other parents in your child's class, and hear about this year's plans for your child's grade level. Each coffee will be in the Lecture Hall, 8:15 to 9:30 pm.

SAT/ACT PREP COURSE 
Attention Juniors and Seniors: High School teachers Liz Ray and Traci McGee will be providing an SAT/ACT Prep Course in September. Registration forms may be found on the Forms page of the website. Upon completion of this course, students will be well equipped to take their exams and experience new levels of improvement and achievement like never before! Click here for details.

COSTA RICA TRIP
If you were unable to attend the informational meeting regarding the Summer 2013 Costa Rica trip, you may email our HS Spanish teacher, Mrs. Daniel, at yelena.daniel@fcspaladins.org.

HIGH SCHOOL ATTENDANCE
The FCS Attendance Policy states if your High School student is going to be absent (all day or any part of the school day), you are required to send an email to attendance@fcspaladins.org by the start of school on the day of the absence. If notification is not received, the attendance system will assign your student an unexcused absence and a detention.

BASEBALL
A new school year also kicks off a new year of Paladin Baseball! All players and parents are invited to join us, Wednesday, September 5 at 6:30 pm in the Lecture Hall. You will hear the vision and upcoming opportunities for our baseball program. Please mark your calendar and plan to attend.

DROP/ADD
High School students have until the end of Friday, September 7 to drop or add classes.

AP FEES
Students taking AP classes must pay a $75 class fee by Friday, September 14. This fee is not to be confused with the $81 test fee which will be collected in the spring for the AP exam.

FRIDAY PIZZA LUNCHES
The Senior Class will be sponsoring the Friday Pizza Lunch Fundraiser again this year, beginning September 7. An order form for September and October is available on the Forms page of the website or in the HS office. Orders are due Tuesday, September 4. The fundraiser offsets the cost of the senior trip, and the class appreciates your support very much!

BUILDING HOURS
Just a reminder: the High School building closes at 4:00 pm each day. In order to keep our students safe and the building secure, students practicing in Gym 1 are asked not to open the doors for anyone.
