STATE OF THE SCHOOL ADDRESS
Monday, January 28, Gym 1, 7:00 pm - You don't want to miss the annual State of the School Address! Dr. Burris looks forward to bringing the FCS family our new strategic plan during this exciting evening. The plan is a culmination of work on behalf of the steering committee, along with our school board and 120 plus parents, faculty and staff who were involved in various committees over the last 18 months. Please take a look at the following video which previews an overview of our strategic plan.  Mark your calendar and plan on being present for this significant meeting. Child care will be provided by our seniors in G2 for a donation which will go towards their senior trip.

WINTERFEST - WOW!
A note from Dr. Burris, FCS Headmaster-
"I want to take a minute to say 'thank you' and 'WOW' to all - faculty, staff, parents - who took a role in making Winterfest 2013 a success. It will long be remembered as a time when teachers and students did life together and saw each other's hearts. Those two days were an incredible experience and lots of encouraging feedback has been received. It has been a reminder to our entire FCS family that classrooms and books are merely tools to do the job we're really here for... preparing God's children for life and eternity. God bless you."

SEVERE WEATHER AND EMERGENCY PROCEDURE
Severe Weather - In the event of severe weather we will be implementing emergency procedures to keep your child safe. Please DO NOT CALL the school office or drive to the school as we will be taking care of your children. We will keep you abreast of any pertinent information in a timely manner.

The administration will make decisions regarding school closing. FCS does not follow any county closings. Check you local TV station for Fellowship Christian School closings or delays. Arrangements have been made with the following stations: WSB-TV, 11-Alive, CBS Atlanta, and FOX 5. If possible, we will send out a text or RenWeb message, therefore it is imperative, Parents, to keep us updated with all changes of your cell numbers and email addresses.

Emergency - In answer to many parents' question, FCS does have emergency lock down procedures and we will be practicing these in the near future during school hours.

VISITORS
All visitors to FCS, including parents, are required to check in at the appropriate divisional office ( ES or MS/HS) to obtain a visitor's pass. Thank you for your cooperation.

ONLINE RE-ENROLLMENT FOR 2013-2014
Re-enrollment dates are January 29 - February 8, 2013. We are excited to introduce online re-enrollment for the 2013-2014 school year. In January you will receive an email with instructions on how to complete the process. Re-enrolling between January 29 and February 8 will allow the $250 registration fee to be waived. The $500 tuition deposit is due when you re-enroll. Already a record number of applications have been received for next year, so please re-enroll in a timely manner to secure your student's place for next year. We value our families and look forward to partnering with you next year.

REMINDER: January 2013 FACTS tuition payments will be reduced by 2012-13 tuition deposits paid last year during re-enrollment/enrollment. Please contact Kaye Stafford, kaye.stafford@fcspaladins.org or 770-641-6818, in the FCS business office, with any questions.

WT CAFE HOT LUNCHES
WT CAFE provides FCS hot lunches. Information is on the FCS Website Hot Lunch Page or go to wtcafe.com  to order lunches. MS/HS needs someone from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm daily, to help with lunch set up, serving and clean up. FELLOWSHIP FUND
Our goal: 100% parent participation and $600,000.

Matching Gifts: 
Dollar-for-dollar match: An anonymous donor will match each dollar collected from new gifts* up to $30,000. Your gift automatically doubles for each dollar you give!

Participation Incentive: Once participation reaches 81%, we have the opportunity to earn an additional $1000 for each percent in participation up to 100% through a gift match.

Company gift match: Please check with your employer's human resource office to discover whether your company will match your gift. Click here for a list of companies that participate in gift match. This, of course, is not a exhaustive list.

Fellowship Fund gifts immediately impact every FCS student's educational experience because the funds are collected and spent in the area of focus within this school year. This year's Fund is focusing on six areas: technology tools for teachers, Fine Arts, spiritual development, campus security equipment, strategic plan, and auxiliary practice field 
improvements.

MID-YEAR PRINCIPAL COFFEES
8:15 - 9:15 am, ES Library (change from Room 169), see schedule below. Mrs. Kathy Teston, ES Principal, will be conducting these coffees to look at the present with a view to the future. This is a great opportunity for parents to see how the year is progressing and how to prepare for the next grade. Childcare will not be provided.

GIRLS LACROSSE TRYOUTS
Tuesday, January 29, 6:00-7:30 pm, Paladin Field. All girls, grades 5 - 8, interested in LaCrosse are invited to attend.

4th ANNUAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL VARIETY SHOW
Tuesday, February 5, 2013. This show allows our K5 - 5th grade students to showcase their talents in a non-competitive venue. In the past, we have had the pleasure of watching our talented students sing, dance, play an instrument, cheer, hula hoop, perform magic tricks and more! Solo acts and groups are welcome. NEEDED...FCS "WORLD CLASS CREW"
Want to be part of our FCS World Class Crew? The ES is in need of enthusiastic and hard working students who can help support our FCS Variety Show. As a crew member, students will be responsible for the set up and take down of stage props and musical instruments for all performers during the rehearsals and variety show (Tuesday, February 5). This is a great opportunity to serve your fellow students and be part of the FCS school production team. After all, the "crew" is what makes the production run smoothly and efficiently! BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION UPDATE
Thanks to all the families collecting so diligently; the PTF has raised $1362 so far this year. Everyone did such an AWESOME job collecting in the fall, we're going to hold another contest in February. So, keep collecting; more contest information will be coming soon. Box Tops for Education are found on many grocery items. It only takes a minute to clip off to start collecting for our school! 

CONSIGNMENT SALE
For years there have been encouragement to have a FCS consignment sale and the PTF wants to make it happen! To bring this rewarding service project to our FCS family we need many volunteers to help. We would like to have a spring sale so if you can lead this or volunteer to be on a committee please email josabank.kathy@att.net. More details to follow soon. 

YEARBOOK REQUEST
The Yearbook Staff is looking for digital images of 4th and 5th grade boys basketball and action pictures of Miss Milton's league. Please submit your favorite 10 to 15 clear images on a flash drive, CD or DVD. Label all flash drives, so they may be returned. Contact cindy.hart@fcspaladins.org.

NEW YEAR BOX TOPS
Collection January 7 - 25. Everyone did such an AWESOME job collecting Box Tops in October that we have decided to collect more!!! With all the holiday baking which occurred over Christmas break hopefully you saved all your Box Tops for Education labels. We'd LOVE to have another phenomenal collection. Every label adds up to money our PTF can use to help sponsor their wonderful events. Look for labels on your everyday grocery items. It only takes a minute to clip the label, collect them and bring them to school.

During the month of January (7-25) a bin will be in the HS office for collection of the labels. Put them in a Ziploc bag (a Box Top product) with your student's name written on the bag. At the end of the month, the family who collects the most Box Tops will win a gift card to a local restaurant! Deadline for your Box Tops is Friday, January 25. Thanks so much for helping FCS and your PTF with this great fundraiser!

TREAD ROCK CLIMBING
Tuesday, January 15, Payment and Permission forms due. Those interested in this trip, which will be on Saturday, January 19 must complete and return the permission form along with payment by Tuesday, January 15. Contact Coach Hughes, trip.hughes@fcspaladins.orgwith any questions you  may have.

MS GIRLS LAX
Tuesday, January 29, 6:00-7:30 pm, Paladin Field. All girls, grades 5 - 8, interested in LaCrosse are invited to attend.

8th GRADE DC NEWS
Friday, February 1, $310 is the next payment due date for the Washington, DC trip. This is for students and chaperones.

HONOR ROLL
MS has several students who, due to illness during exam week, take their mid-terms this week. Once all mid-terms are wrapped up we will post the Honor Roll. Thanks for your patience.

A REMINDER FROM THE SCHOOL NURSE
Students must be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school. Also, students may not come back to school until they have NOT vomited for 24 hours. Please do not allow your student to come to school if they are contagious. Thank you.

BETA CLUB
Tuesday, January 15, form and money due for newly eligible students. The list of newly eligible students is posted. Eligible students must obtain a form from the office and submit it along with the $20 annual dues by Tuesday, January 15. Beta Club induction is February 6 at 7:00pm for students who have completed this process. A list of students who must renew their Beta Club membership is also posted.

SAT/ACT PREP COURSES

Saturdays, February 2, 9 and 23, at FCS, Course dates. This course will provide for your child to learn excellent test taking strategies for each test, review pertinent material, and practice for each part of the exams. This is a wonderful addition to the college preparation your child is already receiving at FCS and will help improve his/her scores significantly. Pick up a flyer in the HS office or go to the FCS website forms page for details.

BARNBURNER
SGA is seeking a new home for our annual BarnBurner held in March. Contact Bryan Lindner, bryan.lindner@fcspaladins.org if you are willing to host this fun event for our FCS high schoolers.

GO PROGRAM
As a reminder, high school students are required to complete 20 service hours each year. GO hours for this year are due by April 12. A copy of our GO packet may be found under Resource Documents in RenWeb. If your student needs additional hours, please click here for a list of remaining opportunities.
