2014-2015 RE-ENROLLMENT FOR CURRENT STUDENTS
Began Tuesday, January 28, 2014 continuing until midnight Friday, February 7, 2014. Families re-enrolling during this timeframe will have the $250 registration fee waived. If you did not receive an email with re-enrollment instructions, please contact admissions@fcspaladins.org.

SUPER BOWL SUNDAY FUN
Sunday, February 2, 2:00-4:00 pm on "Golden Field" adjacent to the athletic office FCS is sponsoring a round-robin flag football tournament. Come out for a great afternoon of fun, food, football and fellowship! The afternoon festivities are open to all fathers and their sons and daughters in grades K-12 at FCS. No registration is necessary!  The afternoon will also feature a special guest devotion speaker. Contact the athletic office for further information.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE
The Stroud family invites you to join in the Celebration of Life and Love service for their beloved Kathleen, Thursday, February 13, 4:00 pm, Roswell United Methodist Church. This precious wife, mother, daughter, sister, teacher, and friend is sorely missed by all those whose lives she touched. We join with the Strouds in praising God for His love and knowing Kathleen is in His presence today.

GEORGIA GOAL - WOW!
The 58 Million Dollar Cap for 2014 was met in a record 22 days! A BIG Thank You to all the Fellowship families who participated! Be on the lookout for your approval notification. Once approval has been received you will have 60 days to make your payment.

Wednesday, February 5, 7:00 pm. This year’s FCS Elementary Variety Show is going to be incredible! Singing, dancing, magic, music, poetry, and cheerleading! Please come out to enjoy the performances and support your classmates. You don't want to miss it!


RESCHEDULED - ES SPORTS DINNER
Friday February 7, 6:15pm, ES Gym. Due to the snow and the closing of school, this dinner in honor of our elementary Basketball and Wrestling athletes, families and coaches will take place Friday, Feb. 7. This will also be Senior night so it should be a great evening! 

We understand there may be some who cannot attend. We are sorry if this date change keeps some from being with us. If you are unable to attend and so the PTF can get an accurate count for food preparation, please email peggy.yates@fcspaladins.org by Thursday, Feb 6Your checks have not been cashed so please let us know if you would like a refund or if you wish for the business office to shred the check.

The PTF has a limited amount of our FCS Paladins Merchandise left. Get yours before it’s gone! Just download an order form and return it to the Elementary office with your payment. Items will be delivered to your student within just a few days. Orders will be filled first-come, first-serve.

FIFTH ANNUAL MIDDLE SCHOOL VARIETY SHOW
Auditions: Wednesday and Thursday, February 5 & 6 
Show: Friday, February 28, 7:00 pm.
Middle School students are invited to participate. What is your talent? Announcer? Dancing? Singing? Comedy? Acting? Music? Think about what you want to do and SIGN-UP! And don’t forget . . . dress down passes for ALL participants!

6th GRADE SCIENCE FIELD TRIP

Friday, February 7, 8:00 am, Room 108. MS parents please join MS Principal Tony Tacquard for this informal time to hear about all that is planned for the second semester in middle school. 

TEST CALENDAR - Teachers will be individually emailing any important information about tests or work in their classes. RenWeb will be updated as plans for the week are finalized.







TRACK AND FIELD
The information meeting for parents and students interested in Track and Field will be rescheduled due to the inclement weather.  Watch for more information to come soon. 

FOOTBALL 2014
The lunch meeting for interested high school boys, grades 9-11, will be rescheduled. Watch for more information.

ROBOTICS 
The FCS High School Robotics Team Number 6297 (better known as the Lear team) has qualified to compete in the VEX STATE CHAMPIONSHIP to be held in February!  Under the fine mentorship of Jeff Lear, our High School team won the "Excellence Award for Design" at the prestigious Gwinnett County School of Math, Science and Technology (GSMST) tournament, held last weekend. This competition hosted 50 of the most advanced competition teams in our state, as well as teams from South Carolina and Florida. Please congratulate team members Ben Barrere, Elliott Bird, Harrison Haigler and Jordan Parker!  This is the first FCS High School team to qualify for the State Championship, under the new more stringent qualifying guidelines. CONGRATULATIONS ON A JOB WELL DONE!

GO BLANKET DRIVE 
"Thank you! This is the perfect time to receive these blankets with temperatures being so low." -Ben Bradberry, World Relief-Atlanta
Last week, Ari Durham and several FCS students delivered 265 blankets to Ben Bradberry of World Relief Atlanta. The blankets were collected by the high school during Winterfest. World Relief assists refugees displaced by persecution, war, famine or genocide. WR helps the refugees for ninety days (finding them a place to live, work, train in ESL, and enroll children in school) as they transition to restart their lives in the USA. Blankets will be given to refugee families assisted by WR. See the story on the FCS website.

FEBRUARY PIZZA ORDERS
Orders are due by Monday, February 3 (new date).  If you wish to order pizza for Fridays during the month of February click for an order form. Students who ordered pizza lunch for today (Friday, January 31) may take a credit on their next order. The Senior Class appreciates your support!

EL SALVADOR MISSION TRIP
The sign up deadline for this trip is Thursday, February 6. The date of the trip is May 30 – June 7, 2014. This is our first ever mission trip to El Salvador! Information packets may be picked up in the office. Questions? Contact Mr. Bullington, kirk.bullington@fcspaladins.org.

SAT/ACT PREP COURSE
Saturdays - February 8, February 22, and March 1. This course - for sophomores and juniors  who have completed a full year of geometry - provides a fantastic opportunity to learn excellent test taking strategies for each exam, review pertinent material, and practice many problems from each of the sections. This Prep Course is a wonderful addition to the college preparation students already receive at FCS and will help improve their exam scores significantly! Please see the attached flyer for more details.

GO VALENTINE PARTY
Saturday, February 8, 5:00-8:00 pm, Fellowship Bible Church. Students wishing to earn GO hours may volunteer for the annual Valentine’s Party for Hispanic couples. Students are needed to assist with set up beinning at 3:00 pm. Interested students should see high school Spanish teacher Yelena Daniel to sign up. A lunch planning meeting will occur this week with further details.

2014 BETA CLUB INDUCTION
Saturday, February 22, 12:15pm, Gym 2.  Welcome new Beta Club members!  If you are not sure if this announcement applies to you, check the list of all new Beta Club members posted on the first floor bulletin board. This year’s Beta Club Induction will include our induction service as well as a food drive for North Fulton Community Charities. Information regarding what to bring and do will be provided in upcoming meetings, so listen to the announcements about when and where those are taking place. New Beta Club members should arrive to Gym 2 at 11:00 am and plan to leave at 1:00 pm following the food drive, lunch, and service of induction. Parents are invited to attend!

FCS MOMS CONNECT
The High School PTF invites all of our wonderful High School Moms to the Ultimate Hoedown Paladin Throwdown Tuesday, February 25, 7-10 pm! Dust off those cowgirl boots and hats and join us for a Paladin promenade in the high school gym. The cost is only $5! An invitation will be coming soon through email. Mark your calendars; you don't want to miss out on the FUN!

MATH TUTORING
High School Math teacher Liz Ray will begin scheduling one-on-one math tutoring sessions, on weekday afternoons, for students currently enrolled in Algebra 1 or Algebra 2. If you are interested, please email her at liz.ray@fcspaladins.org for information on rates and availability.
